Mommy Makeover Procedure
What occurs during your mommy makeover depends on the procedures you include in your customized treatment plan. That said, we’ll start by taking “before” pictures, and then you will meet with your anesthesia provider, who will be administering general anesthesia.
From there, Dr. Fischer will perform your desired procedure, employing cutting-edge tools created just for these specific surgeries. Drains will be placed in some and will remain for one week (you will not be able to take a shower until these drains are removed).
Afterward, we’ll make you comfortable with a surgical bra and/or a compression garment designed to help you heal faster. You’ll be able to go home that day, although you will need a friend or family member to drive you home. Any discomfort can be treated with prescription medication or over-the-counter medication.
Mommy Makeover Recovery
To start your recovery, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, but following your aftercare instructions can ease those side effects. Getting plenty of rest and avoiding strenuous activity for the first few weeks is key. If you have one, make sure to wear a compression garment for as long as recommended by Dr. Fischer.
After about a week, we’ll remove your drains, and you’ll finally be able to take a shower! Depending on how physically active your job is, you may also be able to return to work within two weeks or less. You’ll also likely be able to resume some lighter activities.
After 3-6 weeks, most swelling will subside, and you will be able to see your initial results.
You will be seen for a follow-up 6-8 weeks after your procedure. In most cases, all restrictions will be lifted after the follow-up appointment.
Mommy Makeover Results
While you may see some initial results immediately after your procedure, the swelling and bruising will hide most of the changes. In the weeks and months after your mommy makeover surgery, you’ll see the results become more visible. Once everything heals and settles, you won’t be able to believe the results!
